Welcome to the Mount Sterling Public Library Website!
SAVE OUR LIBRARY!
STRICKLANDS PROPOSAL MAY VERY WELL RESULT IN OUR CLOSURE
Imagine Mt. Sterling without a Public Library
Drastic cuts the Governor has announced to Ohio's public library funding could force the closure of many of Ohio's public libraries like ours that receive no other funding from outside sources such as levies. We are not going to our community asking to pass a levy. We are simply begging our Governor NOT to cut our funding anymore than the 20% that had already been projected by his administration for this year alone. His budget now has increased that cut an ADDITIONAL 30% bringing a total cut of 50% to our libraries alone. Please support our library by contacting the Governor, your State Senators and Representatives, and let them know our Libraries are a necessary resource and staple in our community! There is no time to waste! This decision is being made within the next few days. Without this funding, our library will not be able to exist with the programming, resources and opportunities for our community and patrons that it now offers. It would be a travesty to lose our historical landmark as we now know it. We urge you to speak now to make a difference before voicing our concerns will no longer matter! We especially encourage you to contact the Governor, as it is his administrations budget proposal.
