Mt. Sterling Museum

Mount Sterling Community Museum:

The Mount Sterling Community Museum is a nonprofit organization which has operated in conjunction with the Mount Sterling Public Library since 1972. We offer programs and displays to help members of our community further their knowledge of the Mt. Sterling area and deepen their understanding of the people who lived here.

Our mission is to preserve the history of the Mount Sterling area by encouraging individuals to donate or loan artifacts to the museum that is some way related to that history. The Museum exists to provide leadership on furthering knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the prehistory and the history of Mount Sterling and the broader cultural and natural environments of which Mount Sterling is a part.

Hours of Operation:

The Museum is open to the public from March through December on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00 to 1:00.

The Genealogy Room is now located in the museum. Hours of operation are the same as museum. Please contact us to set up an appointment for special hour usage.
