Rock-N-Roll; AFTER Beatlemania
"Because there's nothing more American than
Rock-N-Roll!!"
Rock-N-Roll -AFTER Beetlemania
Thanks to our captive audience of around 40 people for joining us on at the Library Sunday, August 1 at 2:00 PM, for another informative and fun session! The Timmons brothers once again did not disappoint, and filled the show with fascinating facts with an entertaining enthusiasm that only they can deliver!
*********************
In 2006, the Timmons Brothers provided a presentation on The Beatles and the mania it created when they first came to the USA in 1964. With the recent success of The Beatles Rock Guitar Hero and the charting of re-mastered CDs of Beatle albums, it is time to present another era of the world’s most popular and commercially successful group. Plan to be present at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 1 at the Mount Sterling Public Library as the Timmons Brothers will examine and discuss the era from late 1966 to early 1968 when the Beatles stopped touring and focused their creative energies on their music.

The period gave us some of the most critically acclaimed and innovative music of the 20th century with the release of the albums “Revolver”, “Magical Mystery Tour” and “Sgt. Pepper” (the album recognized by critics and publications as one of the most influential albums in the history of rock music). Join the Timmons Brothers as they share rare audio performances and video footage of the Beatles from this era. They are also encouraging people to bring Beatles memorabilia as an exhibit area will be provided to showcase various Beatle collectibles. As spoken in song by the Beatles, “A splendid time is guaranteed for all”.

Rock -N-Roll Trivia Show 2009
The Mt. Sterling Public Library sponsored the Timmons Brothers Rock-N-Roll Trivia Show on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the community center. These local Rock-n-Roll historians put on the best show around! No registration was required, and the program was a huge success. It was well attended with support from the community, and estimated at least 60 plus people attended the event leaving standing room only. Those that answered the trivia questions correctly were given a printed paper that looked like a "record album" for each correct answer. At the end of the program, those with the most correct answers (as proven by their accumulated "paper albums") were given first priority to choose from the door prizes. A total of 15 people received door prizes. Some of the door prizes given out and the donors are listed below:
QFM 96- music CD's, Iron Maiden DVD
The Brew 105.7- t-shirts, CD's/DVD's, Nascar board game

Many people joined us again for a different show on Sunday, August 2 @ 2 PM in the library, when we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock!
Another great Rock-n-Roll show

Once again, the library sponsored a fun, interactive and informative show from local Rock-n-Roll historians the Timmon's brothers. We had a great showing and many prizes to give away. The latest show was titled "ROCK-N-ROLL: A reflection of the Times" and was held on Sunday, August 2 at 2PM at the library. The show was based on marking the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock with an exhibition involving current events of the time focused on the years 1968-1972. This event focused on the student protest movement, Kent State, and other politically charged music related incidents and emotions of that era. Music and related door prizes were a part of the exhibition. No registration was required. Thank you to those who came to help us celebrate the 40th anniversary of Woodstock!!
