Scholarship Applications Available
The Friends of the Mt. Sterling Public Library established the Marjorie Hanson Memorial Book Scholarship several years ago to honor the memory of long-time area resident Marjorie Hanson. Mrs. Hanson was a strong proponent of reading and promoted and advocated positive influences of education with her children. Through their generous donations to the library, Madison Plains school district, and the entire community, Marjorie’s family has made it possible for the Friends of the Library to offer one book scholarship in the amount of $1,500.00 for the 2017/2018 academic year. Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a student graduating with the 2018 Madison Plains senior class, or residing in the Madison Plains school district and graduating with an accredited home school program in 2017/2018 school calendar year.
- Must be pursuing higher education as a student working towards a bachelor’s or associates degree in the 2018/2019 academic calendar year.
- Must have an active Mt. Sterling Public Library card.
Applications are available to be picked up at Mt. Sterling Public Library and Madison Plains High School library.
