Summer Reading Winners Announced & Sponsors to Thank
Unearth A Story: Summer Reading 2026 ended on July 11. Drawings for the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge have been completed and winners have been notified. All adults who turned in their first completed reading challenge logs received a $10 gift card to Two Hands Coffee.

Mt. Sterling Public Library and some staff members also contributed to the initial prizes given out to kids for their first reading logs turned in.
This year’s theme was “Unearth A Story” and ran from June 8 through July 11 at Mt. Sterling Public Library, with reading logs available beginning on June 8 at the library. For any of the events, workshops, or classes that require registration, sign up began on June 8 by stopping in or calling. These fill up quickly so be sure to sign up soon or you may miss out.
Our summer reading challenge is open to ALL ages every year! With no registration required, patrons simply stop in to pick up a reading challenge bookmark to log every 20 minutes read and turn in when completed. Each completed bookmark will earn you another entry into the drawings for prizes and grand prizes.

Butterfly Project: We had multiple release dates at the library due to the variations this year in the metamorphosis
Magic Nate: Wednesday June 10, 11:00 a.m. at MSCC
Summer Family Storytime: Mondays, June 15, 22, 29, & July 6 at 10.30 a.m. at MSPL for families with children up to age 9.
Madison County Master Gardeners Plant Swap: Saturday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at MSPL
ODNR Turtle Visit at the Library: Monday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. (Part of the Family Storytime program)
Kids Cake Decorating Class: Tuesday, June 23 at 6:00 p.m. for ages 7-12 years at MSPL. Registration required beginning June 8. Limit of 15 participants. SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULLY BOOKED
The Science of Frankenstein: Friday, June 26, 2:30 at MSPL
