Welcome New Board Member
Mt. Sterling Public Library Board of Trustees welcomed Charlie Morrison as the newest board member recently at the February board meeting. Charlie came to us highly recommended, and is replacing the seat held by Guy Forthofer, who did not renew his title after fulfilling his 7-year term. Guy leaves us in good hands and with a positive outlook on his time serving the library and our community. The board, staff, and Friends of the Library wish Guy all the best with his accounting firm in Granville, and in his future retirement plans. He continues to reside on his mini farm in Madison County.
Charles R. Morrison III will serve a seven-year term commencing immediately through 2029. Morrison, a resident of rural Mt. Sterling, is the founder and president of MCR Medical, a multi-million-dollar e-commerce business that is the market leader in providing CPR training devices as well as first aid and emergency supplies throughout North America. Charlie and his late wife and business partner, Karen Morrison, identified youth reading as a primary pillar of their philanthropic efforts years ago. In fulfilling this commitment, the Morrisons and MCR Medical have sponsored the Library’s Summer Reading Program for several years and actively contribute to the Library’s Little Free Library Pantry through food and book drives. Morrison is a zealous advocate of intellectual freedom and is committed to the library’s importance as a center of information, of community culture, recreation, and continuing education. “I am humbled by the appointment and look forward to contributing to the continued growth and development of the Library in our community,” said Morrison.
The Mt. Sterling Public Library Board of Trustees is made of up seven members who meet monthly on the second Thursday. The Board of Trustees establishes the basic policies of the Library with respect to budgeting, services, properties, personnel, materials, and gifts.
Mt. Sterling Public Library board members, staff, and Friends of the Library extend a Welcome to Charlie Morrison as our newest library board member.
